Raymond Salvador has a degree in Biology (1991), a PhD in Sciences (1997) and a degree in Statistics (2002) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
He started his research career in the field of Environmental Sciences, carrying out the PhD on the analysis of satellite remote sensing images. This was followed by a postdoctoral period in the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (Ispra, Italy) and a position in the European Environment Agency as an expert on Geographic Information Systems. In 2002 was contracted as a statistician by the Clinical School of the University of Cambridge (UK).
There, he started working in the field of Neuroimaging, in close collaboration with researchers from the Brain Mapping Unit and the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre from this university. Since 2005 he has a contract from the Spanish National Health Service and is currently leading different research projects where the development of new brain imaging tools is combined with their application in the study of different psychiatric disorders.
Raymond Salvador is author of more than fifty research articles and works as a reviewer for several International Research Journals.
