Pilar Salgado graduated with honours in psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Barcelona.
She worked for five years as a postdoctoral researcher in the INCM (Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience Mediterranean, Marseille, France). She obtained the HDR (French diploma for accreditation for supervision of PhDs) from the Université de la Méditerranée.
Currently, she is under contract to the CIBERSAM as senior researcher and is principal investigator for the project ‘Neural correlates of spatial memory in schizophrenia', funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Her research focuses on the study of the brain structural and functional alterations in schizophrenia, using anatomical and functional MRI.
