Paola Fuentes Claramonte has a Degree in Psychology from the Universitat Jaume I, and a PhD in Psychology from the same university. During her predoctoral stage she was awarded a Vali+d grant from the Valencian Government as well as an FPU grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education. Since 2015 she is a researcher in FIDMAG Research Foundation, where she has been awarded a Juan de la Cierva-Formación grant from the Spanish government.
Her research interests have been focused on the study of cognition, motivation and individual differences using functional magnetic ressonance imaging. Her work in FIDMAG focuses on the study of the cerebral correlates of the alterations found in patients with schizophrenia in several cognitive processes, including language and motivation.
