Joaquim Radua received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2003. He subsequently completed his Psychiatry internship at Bellvitge University Hospital in 2008 and received a degree in Statistics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2010. He was awarded a PhD in biostatistics of brain imaging at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London in 2012.
With >100 articles in high impact indexed journals, Dr Radua's research is mainly focused on the study of psychiatric disorders using neuroimaging techniques and meta-analysis. He developed and periodically revisits Seed-based d mapping (formerly known as Signed Differential Mapping), one of the meta-analytic methods for voxel-based neuroimaging studies most used by the international scientific community, as well as MetaNSUE.
His research is currently also focused on the clinical prediction (e.g. individual treatment response or recurrence risk) based on available clinical and biological data, to pave the way for evidence-based personalized medicine.
