Decree 109/2025, of June 3, which regulates the Research Ethics Committees (CER), the accreditation procedure for CERs and the Ethics Committees for Research with Medicines (CERM) and creates the Regenerative Medicine Research Ethics Committee of Catalonia (CERMR), defines CERs as independent bodies with a multidisciplinary composition, whose main purpose is to ensure the protection of the rights, safety and well-being of subjects participating in a biomedical research project, and to offer public assurance through an opinion on the corresponding documentation of the research project, taking into account the points of view of lay people and, in particular, patients, or patient organizations.
The CER FIDMAG Germanes Hospitalàries has adapted its internal regulations and its standard operating procedures (PNT) to the new legislation.This PNT will be available to researchers and/or promoters of research projects upon request to the Technical Secretariat via email cer@fidmag.org.
CER FIDMAG Germanes Hospitalàries was reaccredited in 2023 by the General Directorate of Regulation, Planning and Health Resources of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia and its scope of action is legally restricted to Catalonia.
